BiBA Blog Day 1

My BiBA Judging Journey – Day One

Today marked the first step in my BiBA judging journey, and what a start it was.

We kicked things off at Preston North End Football Club, surrounded by around 110 fellow judges. Walking into the room, I spotted a few familiar faces straight away, which always helps settle the nerves. But what really stood out was the energy in the room. You could feel the buzz. The BiBAs are clearly something special.

I have judged awards before, but this feels different. Bigger. More established. More meaningful. The BiBAs have been around for years and are run in partnership with the North and Western Chamber of Commerce, so there is real credibility and pride attached to being part of it.

I am judging within Leisure and Tourism, a sector I am truly passionate about, so to be involved at this level is something I do not take lightly.

Meeting my fellow judges was a highlight. It was clear from the start that we are going to get along really well. We hit it off straight away, which will make the whole process even more enjoyable.

The training itself was straightforward but incredibly insightful. There were plenty of questions, great discussions, and it really helped build a strong understanding of how the process works. It is clear this is a rigorous and fair system, and that is exactly how it should be.

One message really stood out to me: “bring out the best in the candidates.”

That resonated instantly. It is exactly what we strive to do every day at Perfect Recruitment. Whether it is a CV, an interview, or a career move, it is all about helping people show up as their best selves.

Tomorrow, we gain access to the judge’s portal, which feels like the next exciting step. We will each have our own questions, and it is vital that we treat every candidate consistently and fairly. – Lisa Brady Lisa@perfect-recruitment-co-uk
