Why I Love Working in Recruitment – Jenny
Perfect Recruitment has played a significant role in my career when I worked as Head of Hospitality and Tourism at Runshaw College for 30 years, as they have always supported the students studying Hospitality and Catering and Tourism, providing quality time and quality advice to each one and by helping them prepare solid CVs. I have continued to do this as a key element to my role here at Perfect Recruitment, working with Blackburn, Runshaw, Lancaster and Morecombe and Wigan Colleges helping promote a positive work ethic and encourage students to seize every opportunity. https://runshaw.ac.uk/
Seeing the scope of the hospitality industry
The variety of jobs it offers and the differing types of establishments make no day ever the same! For me personally, coming across past students and seeing their journey is so interesting and gives me great pride is seeing how far they have come. The industry is vast, but you can almost guarantee that when speaking to new businesses or candidates that you will know someone in common, which makes the conversations so much richer, familiar, and worthwhile.
My main role at Perfect Recruitment
My role in the office is to get out and visit all the fabulous restaurants, hotels, leisure parks, cafes, etc, and there are many, so my day on the road is a busy one. Often told I like to natter !!!, when I get talking to an employer or candidate, it is a joy listening and talking to them. Establishing what they want and suggesting options to them is particularly good as you do feel you make positive contributions.
Out of Office
I still practise as a part-time chef lecturer and work in the industry, which allows me to remain up to speed with employer demand and the talent pool available; I never tire of immersing myself into the industry.
