We are working with a fantastic hotel in Sheffield to recruit a talented Sous Chef for their high-volume kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a leadership role and be part of a dynamic culinary team, catering to the hotel’s busy restaurant, conferences, and banqueting events.

Ideal Sous Chef Profile:
- Previous experience in a high-volume, fresh food kitchen is essential.
- Experience in conference and banqueting operations.
- Hotel kitchen experience is preferred but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy kitchen during peak service times.
- A hands-on leader who can effectively support the Head Chef and develop the kitchen team.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and consistency.
- Oversee food preparation and production in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients.
- Lead the kitchen team during busy service periods, ensuring smooth operations during banqueting and large events.
- Assist with menu planning, specials creation, and cost control initiatives.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are adhered to.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and managing supplier relationships to maintain efficiency and profitability.
