Type: Full Time / Permanent
Salary: £18 per hour, 45-50 hours per week

I am working with a fantastic client, supporting them with their search for a Head Chef for their flagship site just outside of Penrith.
I am looking to speak with experienced Head Chefs generating from a high-volume fresh food background.
You will need a proven solid background managing a large-scale operation in a high volume, fresh food establishment as expected covers are circa 750 per day.

Ideal Head Chef Candidate:
• Minimum of 5 years Head Chef experience in fresh, high-volume venues.
• A strong leader who is capable of remaining calm under pressure and managing a team fostering and maintaining a positive environment.
• Excellent understanding of BOH financials – budgets, stock controls, labour costs.
• High level organisation & planning skills – ensuring correct staffing, prep, stock holding etc.
• Excellent communication skills – able to effectively communicate with BOH & FOH respectfully.
• Adaptable & Flexible – comfortable working in fast paced environment with the ability to adapt to changing circumstance.

Head Chef Role Responsibilities:
• Direct all kitchen operations – food prep, cooking, food safety, ordering, suppliers, rotas, stocks, budgeting etc.
• Stock control & auditing – ensuring the kitchen is working within agreed and defined margins.
• Health, Safety & Hygiene compliance -Ensuring that all H&S, Food Safety, HACCP management and hygiene standards are continuously met.
• Team Management – shift management, staffing levels, recruitment, training & development, appraisals
• Food quality control – ensure all standards for food preparation, presentation & freshness is consistent across all dishes.
• Collaboration with FOH – communicate effectively with FOH Managers & staff during service and resolve any service-related issues quickly.
