We are seeking a temporary Front of House Lecturer - 27 hours per week.
The client we are working with is a well known higher education college. The assignment is due to start as soon as possible until 19th December.
The ideal candidate will be able to handle teaching both the practical skills of front-of-house roles, like service and hospitality, and related theory, assessing student progress, and providing student support. The role involves delivering lessons, designing curriculum, and maintaining high standards in a college's restaurant or training environment.
Ideal candidate must be available for all days and times during the 2 months
Must have a DBS Certificate
Schedule:
- Tuesday 10am to 9pm
- Thursday 10am to 9pm
- Friday 8:30am to 3pm
Rate of Pay:
£16.00-£18.00 per hour, weekly pay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and training: Deliver a curriculum that includes both practical training in a restaurant environment and theoretical classroom sessions.
- Assessment: Develop and implement assessment methods, mark work, and monitor student progress to ensure they meet qualification standards.
- Curriculum development: Design, develop, and update course content to reflect current industry trends and future developments
- Student support: Act as a personal tutor, providing guidance and support to students with their learning plans and overall progression.
- Administration: Perform administrative tasks related to the course, such as record-keeping, enrolment, and reporting.
- Quality assurance: Participate in quality assurance processes like lesson observations and internal verification to ensure high standards.
- Health and safety: Ensure a safe working environment for students and staff in line with health and safety policies.
- Industry liaison: Potentially engage with industry professionals to keep the curriculum relevant and help students with career progression.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum Level 3 qualification in Hospitality or Catering.
- Recent and relevant vocational experience in the hospitality industry, particularly with front-of-house roles.
- Proven experience in delivering hospitality qualifications.
