About Our Client:
Our client is a leading production company specialising in the mass production of high-quality pastries and desserts for large-scale events, restaurants, football stadiums, and other sporting events. With a reputation for innovation and excellence, they are looking for a talented Head Pastry Chef to lead their dedicated team in Cheshire.
Role Overview:
As a joint Head Pastry Chef, you will take charge of a dynamic team of 20+ professionals, overseeing the production and development of a wide range of pastries and desserts. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring creativity, exceptional technical knowledge, and a proven ability to deliver at scale. You will also play a key role in product development, ensuring our offerings remain innovative and of the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of 20+ pastry chefs and production staff.
- Production Oversight: Oversee the mass production of pastries and desserts, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency.
- Product Development: Create and refine new products to meet client needs and market trends, with a focus on innovation and creativity.
- Operational Management: Collaborate with the management team and fellow Head Pastry Chef to plan and execute production schedules that meet business demands.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet stringent quality and safety standards.
- Supplier Relations: Utilise supplier knowledge to source the best ingredients and negotiate cost-effective solutions.
- Budget Management: Monitor and control costs, including labour, ingredients, and equipment usage.
- Event Catering: Coordinate production for large-scale events, including sporting events and high-profile functions.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Head Pastry Chef or Senior Pastry Chef in a mass production environment, large-scale event catering, or high-volume hotel kitchens.
- Creativity: Strong ability to develop innovative and visually appealing pastries and desserts.
- Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of pastry and dessert production techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating.
- Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing and motivating a large team.
- Supplier Knowledge: Familiarity with sourcing and managing ingredient suppliers is an advantage.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to business needs, including occasional weekend work.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
