Perfect Recruitment: More Than Hospitality – Expanding Our Reach
When you think of Perfect Recruitment, chances are hospitality is the first thing that comes to mind.
And rightly so.
Hospitality is where we’ve built our reputation, our relationships and a huge amount of our experience. From chefs and kitchen teams through to restaurant managers, general managers and senior hospitality professionals, we’ve spent years understanding what makes a good candidate and, just as importantly, what makes the right candidate for a particular business.
But there’s been a lot happening behind the scenes.
Over the last few months, we’ve been working hard to diversify Perfect Recruitment and expand our reach into new sectors. And we’re now in a position where we can offer businesses something that we think is becoming increasingly valuable in today’s recruitment market: access to candidates who aren’t actively looking for a new job.
Not every good candidate is on a job board
One of the biggest misconceptions in recruitment is that the best candidates are the ones actively applying for jobs.
In reality, some of the strongest candidates we speak to are already in work, relatively happy where they are and certainly aren’t spending their evenings scrolling through job adverts.
That doesn’t mean they wouldn’t move.
It simply means the opportunity would have to be right.
The role, company, salary, progression, culture, location or overall package might need to offer them something their current position doesn’t.
These are what we would class as passive candidates – people who aren’t actively applying but are open to a conversation if the right opportunity comes along.
And that’s where our expanding candidate network comes in.
Expanding beyond hospitality
As part of our diversification strategy, we’ve been building our database and candidate network across a number of new areas.
We’re now developing a strong pool of candidates across:
- Business, Administration & Professional Services
- Engineering & Technical
- Sales, Commercial & Leadership
This gives us access to a much broader range of professionals, from experienced technical and engineering specialists through to sales professionals, managers, commercial leaders and business support candidates.
And importantly, these aren’t simply people who have uploaded a CV and are waiting for the next job to appear.
We’re building relationships.
We’re speaking to people about their experience, their ambitions and what they would actually consider moving for. That means when a suitable opportunity comes through, we’re able to approach people who may never have seen the advert in the first place.
Sometimes the candidate you need isn’t looking for you
This is something we’ve seen time and time again within hospitality, and we’re now applying exactly the same approach across our other sectors.
You can advertise a role, put it on the major job boards, share it across social media and wait for applications to come in.
But what if the person you actually want isn’t looking?
What if they’re currently working for one of your competitors?
What if they’ve been with their current employer for five years and aren’t actively considering a move?
What if they’re earning well, have a good relationship with their employer and would only entertain a move if something genuinely better came along?
You probably aren’t going to find them through an application.
That’s where a recruitment partner with an established network can make a real difference.
Recruitment is about more than filling vacancies
For us, diversification isn’t about simply adding more job titles to our website.
It’s about taking the same relationship-led approach that has worked for us in hospitality and applying it to other industries.
We want to understand the business first.
What are you trying to achieve? What does the team look like? What skills are missing? What sort of person will fit the culture? And, perhaps most importantly, what would make someone genuinely want to join you?
The same applies to candidates.
We want to know what they’ve done, where they want to go next and what would actually tempt them to make a move.
That allows us to have better conversations on both sides.
So, what’s next for Perfect Recruitment?
Hospitality will always be a huge part of who we are. It’s where we’ve developed our expertise and built many of our strongest relationships.
But we’re no longer just a hospitality recruitment business.
We’re expanding, we’re building new networks and we’re developing candidate pools across a range of professional and technical sectors.
And we’re particularly interested in speaking to businesses that are struggling to find the right people through traditional recruitment methods.
If you’ve got a vacancy that isn’t generating the quality of applications you’d hoped for, or you’re looking for someone with a very specific skill set, we may already know someone who could be a great fit – even if they’re not currently looking for a new role.
Likewise, if you’re a professional who’s reasonably happy where you are but would be open to hearing about the right opportunity, we’d be happy to have a confidential conversation.
No pressure. No obligation. Just a conversation.
Because sometimes the best opportunities aren’t the ones you’re actively looking for – they’re the ones you didn’t know were available.
Perfect Recruitment – connecting businesses with the people they wouldn’t necessarily find themselves.
