Role Overview:
Looking for a Junior Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef to support kitchen operations, maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene. Contribute to menu planning, food preparation, while also ensuring adherence to food safety regulations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Chef de Partie or Sous Chef who is looking for Monday to Friday work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight: Oversee the mass production of pastries and desserts, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet stringent quality and safety standards.
- Supplier Relations: Utilise supplier knowledge to source the best ingredients and negotiate cost-effective solutions.
- Event Catering: Coordinate production for large-scale events, including sporting events and high-profile functions.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Chef de Partie in a mass production environment, large-scale event catering, or high-volume hotel kitchens.
- Creativity: Strong ability to develop innovative and visually appealing pastries and desserts.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of pastry and dessert production techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating (desirable).
- Supplier Knowledge: Familiarity with sourcing and managing ingredient suppliers is an advantage.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to business needs, including occasional weekend work.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
