Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in a busy pub and dining venue known for quality, freshly prepared food. This hands-on role involves leading the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring high standards of preparation, cooking, and presentation.
You will contribute to menu development, create daily specials, and maintain consistency across all dishes. Responsibilities include managing stock, ordering supplies, and ensuring the kitchen meets food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards in line with SFBB and COSHH.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience as a Sous or Junior Sous Chef, a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, and relevant culinary qualifications (NVQ or equivalent). Strong leadership, communication skills, and creativity are essential, along with the ability to perform well under pressure.
